Family Thanksgiving Rice

There has been a rice recipe in my family for years that is always the biggest hit at the Thanksgiving table. Not the turkey, not the cranberry sauce, the rice is the biggest hit.The rice is actually such a big of a hit that multiple family members request that my mother or grandmother would cook them additional trays to take home with them. You would think this was such a complicated recipe but it’s really not. All it is, is white rice, mozzarella cheese, hard boiled eggs, chicken liver, sausage, and the salt and pepper. It just takes a little while to make which is why we don’t eat it all year round. Great dishes you’ll love

There is no “official recipe” since this is a family recipe, so there is no official measurements on the ingredients here. But I am confident that I can give you the skills and tools you need in order to make this dish successfully. Just use your discretion in regards to the measurements and you’ll find what tastes the best.

The first thing you want to do is boil your white rice. You’ll know the white rice is done when each grain is soft but still firm. You want the crunch to be gone from the rice completely. While the rice is cooking, you want to put a little bit of oil in a pain and brown some sausage and chicken liver. Make sure you cook the sausage and liver all the way through but you don’t want to cook them too far. You want them to be moist and tender when they are finished browning. While the rice, liver, and sausage are being prepared, slice some hard-boiled eggs that you had made before you started cooking. You want the thickness of the slices to be about ¼ of an inch to ⅜ of an inch. The last ingredient to prepare would be the mozzarella cheese. You want to use store brand mozzarella here, fresh mozzarella is too wet and can make the rice very soggy. Cut the mozzarella into cubes and throw the cubes into a bowl. Great bowel dishes

At this point you should have a tray of white rice, browned chicken livers and sausage, sliced hard-boiled eggs, and cubed mozzarella cheese. Combine all of ingredients in one large tray and mix them around. Add salt and pepper and make sure everything is evenly spread around the rice. Take the tray and put it in the oven at 375 degrees until the top of the rice comes to a crisp.

Once you see the top crispy, take the rice out and you’ll have a delicious meal that’s ready to be eaten. Your family will fall in love with the crispy outside and the moist flavorful inside. You’ll quickly understand why this is such an amazing Thanksgiving dish!

Bourbon with your meal

I freely admit that I love food, but not just any food, but GREAT Food, specifically I love food that has a twist, something that makes me smile by the end of the meal, and thats usually my bourbon or whisky blended meals.

A dash of whisky or dash of bourbon, can certainly add a twist to a meal, but from my experience moderation on the amount can be needed sometimes as it is possible to go overboard and fall asleep half way through the meal if your not careful, haha. Great whiskey

My favourite type of recipe with a touch of whisky for example is one of my favourites as I’m British. Imi talking about a game bird, certainly a luxury it, but definitely delicious. My favourite is pigeon, and by adding a little creme de casis on top which a big dash of whisky in it, it always spices up the meal, and makes it so delicious at the same time.

My favourite for breakfast is Marmalade & whisky bread & butter pudding, but only on the weekend for obvious reasons. To make it you simply open your favourite bottle of whisky and poor a good measure into a cup of cream and vanilla with a spoon of sugar. Then you add it to some bread and orange marmalade to make into a pudding with a pow wow wow. Their a lots of great bread to test your favourite version on such as the Scottish fruit based load Sekjirk Bannockk or even try it with a brioche or a hot cross bun. Now ff your not a fan of whisky or other alcohol in your food, but rather in your glass here are some fun suggestions of drinks to go with different types of meals.

For example whisky or bourbon with a fine cheese Roquefort is absolutely amazing on the palate, or chocolate, especially dark chocolate with cocoa is is absolutely delicious.

Another great choice is apple and pears, when you take those fruit and have a bite and then a sip of your favourite bourbon for example, it is just a great way to relax and feel at peace on Sunday afternoon after a long hard week at work.

Now if you like any type of scotch and you have been on the cheese and chocolate as suggested or even the apples and pears all day then you need something to soak up all that alcohol, and my suggestions is pork ribs, yes I know I actually said pork ribs, but here is why. By mixing the pork ribs in a nice spicy marinade with scotch added into it, with onions blended in, and then left to marinade for a day or two add flavour, when it comes to sitting down it just makes for the best pig out suggestion ever, that will leave you sitting on the couch stuffed with the friend of you choice on your shoulder both with big rosy cheeks as your watching a nice movie on netlix. Foods that are just Crazy Enough to be Delicious

I like to experiment with foods. The results aren’t always exactly what I expect them to be but sometimes I come up with some foods that are just to die for. And when I say they’re to die for, I mean figuratively and literally. Some of these recipes are extremely unhealthy and you should NOT be eating these kinds of foods every day. But if you like to cheat every once in awhile, these foods are just amazingly delicious.

The thing to note about these recipes is that you can use your own creativity, this is more a way of how to experimentally cook. You can use your own different herbs and spices to add your own flavors and uniqueness to the dishes you make.

The first dish I made that was really delicious and a little crazy was a fried beef burger patty. Sounds pretty normal until you hear how exactly I fried these burgers. First, I took a ⅓ pound burger and egged it all up. Then I breaded it with my favorite bread crumbs. My suggestion is to take plain bread crumbs and head to your spice rack. Make up your own concoction and go with it. After your beef patty is fully breaded on all edges, place it in a pan that is about 1 ½ centimeters high of oil. Make sure you put some more herbs and spices into the oil(not the same ones you put in the bread crumbs). The spices in the oil infuse into the breading and the patty itself and once it’s fully cooked, you have a crispy, flavorful, extremely unhealthy beef patty ready to be eaten. At this point, throw the patty on a bun and put whatever you like on it. I’ve even learned how to make some of the special sauces from fast food chains and have put that on it. The key with this is to use your imagination and find out what tastes best. You may fail a few times but once you figure out which combination tastes good, you’ll want to keep making it more and more.

We aren’t done here though, there’s one more crazy way of cooking I use that is worth sharing. All you need is a pot, a few different types of sauces, some bacon, and a few steaks. This is going to use a lot of barbecue sauce so you may as well buy a new container. Fill up your pot with whatever combination of sauces tastes good to you. Whenever I do this, I usually just raid my fridge and pull out everything and just start mixing stuff until the sauce tastes good. Do this until you have enough sauce in the pot to fully immerse your steaks in the sauce. Before you put the steaks into the pot, cut slits into the steaks and weave pieces of bacon through the slits. Throw the steaks into the pot and watch your sauce infuse into the meat. Your end result is the tastiest piece of meat you have ever eaten.

Unfortunately, everything I told you here is extremely unhealthy and can only be eaten very sparingly. You should find your own ways to experiment with cooking and share what you find with your friends and family. Enjoy!
